I live in Malaysia and we have satelite TV through a decoder. Connecting an HDMI converter to my LCD TV would there be a remarkeble difference in piture quality. We dont have HD TV broadcasts in Malaysia.

I think part of our problem will be language but I will give it a shot....

What outputs does your satellite box have? Component? HDMI? DVI? VGA? S-Video? Composite?

What inputs does your LCD TV have? Component? HDMI? DVI? VGA? S-Video? Composite?

Without knowing what inputs and outputs you have available as well as which ones you are currently using it is difficult to answer your question.

No. Converting standard definition to a digital format will not markedly improve picture quality. What it will do is eliminate analog interference like hum bars, etc.

Good luck.
