My buddy Pooty Poo and I, with the help of PhantomZero/Deepblue, have
modified a wrt54g, and several wap54g's for a commercial hotspot
installation in an RV park.

I've created some documentation about our expirience, and failures
(stability / captive portal).

I've seen several supposed solutions to this, anywhere from commercial
units, to ewrt's package, to chillispot, to NoCatSplash run on a
separate system. Basically I'm looking for what is the 'best', and
most 'stable' CaptivePortal / Splash page to advertise a single
webpage redirection on a user's first port80 request.

Advanced firewalling / access restrictions prior to internet access
are not required.

Basically the owner simply wants to display advertisments from local
businesses, and event schedules in attempt to entertain people in his
RV park to stay another day, and help pay for his wireless hotspot and
our installation. Distance between he and us, is ~around 4.5 hours, so
a rock-solid & stable infrastructure and wireless gateway / portal /
etc is paramount.

I realize captive portal functionality is likely to be released in the
next Alchemy, but does anyone have any comments about the hardware
modifcation / installation / etc, and any portal suggestions for the
interim.

Thank you for your time,
BinaryBuddha.
