So my problem is this: the LCD cable leading from the motherboard to the screen has gone bad and I need to procure a new one. The notebook is an HP Pavilion N5190 w/ an LG 14.1" TFT screen; the cable itself is part number DC025015900. Where do you fine folk suggest that I attempt find such an obscure cable?

My first try would probably be HP.
Other than that... I would try them again, since they are pretty much the only people who will have it.

Not true at all. Google the cable and take your pick. Some friends of mine had theirs go bad, searched the web, and found it for $10.
