What are the major differences between the two pocket PC's...the Dell Axim
x30 versus the Axim x50v??
I know the Axim x50v is over $100 more, but how much
multimedia improvement will I see paying this extra? Is it worth the extra
cost? Any information appreciated.

www.aximsite.com for information. IMO, the X30 vs X50v is no contest in
favor of the latter. OTOH, the PPC platform has not lived up to its
promise of useable software. "The next OS..." is the mantra of the PPC
user.

The x50v has a 16MB graphics accelerator, while the x30 does not. The
graphics are awesome.
In addition, Dell will offer upgrade to WM2005 for the x50, but not for the
x30.
The x50 is definitely the one to go with....much better than the x30.

Biggest difference is the screen resolution. The X50V has 640x480 VGA
resolution. While the X30 has 1/4 the resolution and is QVGA. The X50V also
has dedicated video memory. X50V has Bluetooth and 802.11b wireless. Also
the X50V has Secure Digital as well as Compact Flash type 1 and 2. The type
2 is particularly interesting. I've seen 6 gig compact flash 2 microdrives.
No telling how big they will eventually get.
