I use my computer for gaming but also plan on doing some video editing, creating anime music videos and recording things to DVD. I am building a new computer to do this but am unsure of what to use for a video card. My system consists of:

GigaByte GA-8KNXP
WD Raptor 36.7 GB, SATA
WD 120 GB, SATA
Pentium 4 2.8 GHz
1 GB Mushkin PC3200 2-2-2 RAM
Plextor 708 A

I have purchased Adobe Premiere for my video editing so now I'm just left getting a Video Card. I was looking at the ATI 9800 Pro but then I also see the ATI All In Wonder 9800 Pro which has a TV in port. What I don't know if I really need that to do editing or if its just a fluff item?

I also play Everquest, Warcraft III and plan on playing Sims 2, Everquest 2, Worlds of Warcraft and Lineage 2 so I want to be sure the card will handle those without me needing to upgrade again.

Can anyone help enlighten me? Thank you

You might wanna post this on the Graphics card section, as far as video editing is concernd a graphics card does little to improve performance or the like. Consider the graphics card purely for gaming reasons, the all in wonder is great because as it says it does everything,

good luck

Well, it is a good question if he wants to do analog video capture. The 9800 aiw has a video in. Thus you can record mv2 for dvd of old videotape or non dv format. I have a reg 9800 pro and I use a matrox rt.x100 to capture video. The ati might do it almost as good for a lot cheaper. My 2 cents Nunchal

He specifically asked about video editing, not capturing,
but good point you made :-)
