I have to buy a new HD for A30 which is used strictly for business and stuff, so was looking at newegg. The thing is that they have whole bunch of them. I am in 100 bux range, so something in 40Gs 5400 will do. Can any body tell me what better to get: Samsung, Hitachi, Toshiba? Which would work more quiet? I was thinking about Samsung caz it is only 90 bux, but don't know if it will be as good as Hitachi. Any body has a clue?

On my laptop I use two 80 gigs 5400 toshiba hard drives they seem to be good.

Another idea is external hard drives.

Well, I'm thinking 40% for Toshiba-16MB and 60% for Hitachi-8MB both 40Gz. Can't find any reviews, which will perform better and quieter? From desktop HDs I know IBMs were faster even with smaller buffer, so a little confused.

Never mind, getting Hitachi, it is faster and quieter.

Thanks for replies.
