This is one of the strangest bits of legislation I've seen in a while...

The banning of "extreme pornography"

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/7364475.stm

After the 10p tax fiasco, you'd have thought they'd want to keep quiet for a bit!

"Pornographic material which depicts necrophilia, bestiality or violence that is life threatening or likely to result in serious injury to the anus, breasts or genitals has no place in a modern society and should not be tolerated," says a spokeswoman for the ministry.

Yet opponents have also seized on what they see as an ideological schism in the new law, noted by Lord Wallace of Tankerness during last week's debate in the House of Lords.

"If no sexual offence is being committed it seems very odd indeed that there should be an offence for having an image of something which was not an offence," he said.

"Having engaged in it consensually would not be a crime, but to have a photograph of it in one's possession would be a crime. That does not seem to make sense to me."

This is some of the most fcuked up legislation I've seen in a while.

Imagine what debating in the house of commons would of been like:

"NO, i disagreee, i dont think that Gordons wife is a fat heffer, allthough the way he beats her around with his **** in the video's is dispicable"

"RABLE RABLE RABLE RABLE RABLE............"

"Hello" lied the politician

I can't help but think that there are a million more useful things they could be doing than debating porn!

*edit*
Like bringing BACK the 10p tax for underpaid people like myself!

Tell me about it.. I'm on the dole at the moment and there is a serious shortage of reasonably well paid work. I'm in with a chance of a couple of jobs but the small increase in wage over my last job is going to be more than offset by the increase in the tax bill.

Maybe we should let the BDSM crew loose on Gordon and see if we can clarify just what is and is not acceptable on both debates.
