My vote goes to COMMANDO. This game approaches NES-QUALITY both in
terms of graphics and sound.

Why is it that so many of the late 80's games seem so much more
advanced? Did programmers just understand the Intellivision's 16-bit
capabilities better? Was the Intellivision difficult to program for?

The Atari 2600 was a great system, but in terms of performance and
power there is no comparison the intellivision wins hands down. Too bad
it didn't receive more 3rd party support. And have sturdier controllers.

Almost all systems will see better games toward the end of its life.
Take NES, compare Megaman 1 with Megaman 6. 6 have better sound and
graphics.

Early games tended to be just basic because the programmers haven't
really learned all of the system's features and quirks yet.

Most impressive Intelly game? Hmm... based on game play, I'd vote for
B-17 Bomber, or perhaps Utopia. But from a purely graphics-whore point
of view, I guess I'd vote for Microsurgeon.
