Nope, the Athlon 64 X2 and an 8800GTS won't run modern games very well (I should know, I have both!)

You haven't mentioned what motherboard you're looking to buy. What's your total budget?

cpu sucks, get better, AMD 550 maybe. rest its should be ok, but where is your motherboard? and the PSU?

I would recommend for a gaming system ( buy the best you can afford don't skimp when it comes to a gaming rig).

Gigabyte GA-EX58-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard

RAM: 4- 6 GB DDR3 tri channel

CPU: Intel Core I7 920 @2.66Ghz

Video: Gforce 295 1,7Gb ram

Sound: Creative Platinum ed XF-I card 7.1 ( i now some have had probs with creative, but it always works for me)

PSU Enermax 1000W Galaxy

Antec 1200 case

Rache - you've now asked this question as 3 separate threads, that's not good form. Also you've posted in a non technical section of the site for general UK specific discussions, try posting in General Homebuilt section to get some good answers or look at Toms item on PC builds on the main page.
