Building PC hardware

Forum General UK & Ireland Discussions : Building PC hardware

Ok, my Google-fu fails, I'm trying to find some resources online to help me make my own hardware for the PC as well as writing drivers for what I make. I'm NOT asking how to build a PC, don't worry ;)

Just to give a very basic example from which I'll hopefully be able to work from myself, I'd like to make a PCB with 4 LEDs on it that plugs into a USB port, then on the PC control which LEDs are on and off.
