On my Dell 1464 laptop LCD, there is a discolored vetical stripe that is approximately 1.5" wide. (http://postimage.org/image/ekwbxj5od/). Do you think the LCD cable is bad, or the whole LCD needs to be replaced? I connected the laptop to an external monitor and the display did not have the error. After searching through these forums, I haven't seen a similar issue before.

Hello cc77cc;

I haven't seen that particular type of screen problem before either.
I'm pretty sure it's not a data cable issue. Or with the backlight.
Im thinking it has to be a problem within the LCD screen itself.
