Looking for a Gaming Laptop; Asus or MSI

Forum Laptops & Notebooks : General Discussion Looking for a Gaming Laptop; Asus or MSI

So, I am thinking of purchasing a 16" gaming laptop from either Asus or MSI... Toshiba might be an option too. I choose these manufacturers because they have global warranties, and I will likely be buying in the US and shipping to Japan, where the laptop will live out it's hopefully long and fruitful life.

MSI

MSI

Asus
http://www.xoticpc.com/asus-g53sxr [...] figure=yes $1169 as configured by me

These are the laptops on my short list. I've been looking on www.xoticpc.com because it allows me to shave down the price by lowering ram and HD specs, thus allowing me to get the gaming GPU for less.

I think my top choice is the MSI with gtx570m, but I am concerned about the durability, and the keyboard as well. The Asus might be nice, but the gtx560m that it ships with only has a 128bit bus rather than a 192bit bus, and I'm not sure how big of a difference that will make.

I should also add that I am looking to play Skyrim (will be THE game), Batman Arkham City, Rage, and Deus X, as well as older games that should have no problem with on any of these laptops.

Thoughts, suggestions, recommendations, etc., are greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

None of them are customized(you have to copy and paste the config you want from the basket)
Anyway,if your main usage is gaming,go with MSI/GTX 570M

Yeah, I knew that the link would not be customized. I just put everything down to 8gb, removed any second hard drives, and/or put the main drive down to a 640gb 5200 rpm drive.

I'm sure the 570m is the best gaming card, I'm just worried about getting a DOA or something that fails in sixth months and having to deal with shipping it it to be fixed.

ASUS definitely beats MSI in build quality and reliability.

However, MSI has some of the best system configurations on offer, not to mention the reasonable prices.

So it depends on what's more important to you.

Does anyone have any experience dealing with customer service from Asus, MSI, or Toshiba?

You could try looking up user reviews for each brand to see what the general consensus is.

Here's a start:
