Hi, I am about to purchase a gaming laptop from sager but I am stuck between which one to get I ether want to get the NP8180 With SLI GTX 560ms or a NP8170 With a Single Radeon 6990m. Does anyone know the performance of these two mobile cards and if so which one should i go with. And if anyone of you guys have owned a Sager before what temperature are these laptops going to be hitting.

The 6990 is quite a bit faster, but several places have noted that it has heat issues. While the 560 is slower, it is fast enough for most everything and runs cooler. They do have a 580m option as well. I have had Sagers before and really liked them. One of my kids took my last one off to college a couple years ago and it still runs fine.

Just be aware that gaming laptops have horrible battery life, and will run warmer than regular ones is all.

Yes, I know about the battery life. So how hot do you think the 6990m gets 80-90c or higher? I also did some researched about these to cards and it appears the 6990m is a better buy the 560ms struggle with micro shudder.

I think the 6990 is a good part. I don't know anything about where you intend to use it, but I think investing in a laptop cooler would be a good idea if you went that route.

Can't help you there. I've never heard of them. Any reason for buying from them instead of straight from Sager?

They are about 150$ cheaper.

Cheaper is always nice. Good luck and have fun with your new laptop!
