got a acer aspire 4520 laptop, but though I change the boot sequence to bring the CD first, the machine boots to Hard drive only? I am fed up. do you have a solution?

Try to boot in to BIOS and change the sequence in there. Make sure the CD-ROM drive is recognized in BIOS, and do not forget to save the changes when exiting the BIOS.
Restoring the defaults in BIOS might help, after that perform the above.
