Hello truegenius;

This will be good for Surfing, OK for MS Office (but very slow) and Photoshop work will be painfully slow. No gaming. It does meet your budget.
Battery life = 3hrs.
Intel Atom 1.8Ghz single core CPU, 1GB RAM, 160GB HDD, 10.2" 1024x768 LCD, WinXP
Try and find out what you can about the company that makes these.
Be sure you want to do business with them.

those options are good
i talked to my friend and now budget is increased to 15000 indian rupee

i forgot to inform you that windows, office and photoshop are not needed to be preinstalled as he (my friend) have all of these

photoshop, battery backups and ms office are the main thing, 160gb to 320gb is enough, and wants to have a dvd or blue ray writer (and wifi if possible), and it needs to be tough enough to handle any shocks or mishandling in home and during journey (as he wants to keep that for as long as possible),

gaming is not a issue as he plays only old games like nfs underground, most wanted, vice city, and other 2d games

(it seems a increase in budget and demand of more features too)
