Posted this on 09/02 on the dell forum but didnt' get anywhere.



Hi,

I bought the Dimesion 8400 with a sound blaster live 24 bit. the site said
it had 5.1 and I have Cambridge (soundblaster) DTT3500 Digital 5.1 speakers
i used on old machine P3 600mhz HP pavilion with a sound blaster Live 5.1
mp3 card.

When hooked up to new pc with SB Live 24 bit i only get left and right
channels. When i rehook to old pc i get 5.1 sound.

Is the newer SB live 24 bit compatible to DTT3500?

do you have surround enabled on the soundcard?
