Forum Computer Peripherals : General Discussion Keyboards and mice not working

Hi, I built my first computer a couple of weeks ago. Finally something capable of decent gaming. I got it up and running with no problems. All brand new stuff including wireless keyboard and mouse. Everything was working great. Then I went to work. My brother turned it on and let it idle all day. When I got home I noticed the fan built in to the graphics card was going full speed. I turned the monitor on and nothing. I switched the display to the port built into the Motherboard and got an image.

As I was working on the Graphics card, one of the fixes recommended resetting my BIOS. So I did. Still no display from card. After a reboot, none of the USB peripherals work. Not the mice or keyboards, not the wireless adapter or phone charger. Nothing. They don't even light up or act as though they are connected.

So my primary question is how to get peripherals up and running. Secondary is any other recommendations on the display problem.

Note: I have tried to reset the BIOS by unplugging everything from the motherboard including CMOS battery (at least i'm sure that was it, the little one under the expansion slots). Waiting an hour and plugging them back in.

This is what i've got:

GIGABYTE GA-Z68MA-D2H-B3 LGA 1155 Intel Z68 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard
Seagate Barracuda 500GB 7200 RPM SATA 6.0Gb/s with Windows 7 Freshly installed
EVGA 02G-P3-1559-KR GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express
G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600
COOLER MASTER Silent Pro RSA00-AMBAJ3-US 1000W ATX12V v2.3

Any advice would be much appreciated.
