Hows it going, i am wondering if there is a 3D TV on the market that is not to large and will work the same way as a 3D monitor, since i am not able to buy the asus vg278h because it seems that they stopped making it till they fix the problems. I am thinking between 24-30 inches or so, would gaming on it be any worse? Thank you appreciate the help.
I asked the same question about 6 months ago. Unfortunately a 3D TV will not be as good.
This is because the TV cannot support 60Hz 3D with a res of 1080p. The best it can do is 60Hz 3D with 720p so the image will not look good in any game imo.
I would wait for the vg278h unless you think you can live with this limitation.
Actually, I believe that as long as both the video card's HDMI output and the HDTV's HDMI input are both version 1.4a you will be able to get 3D on a 3D HDTV at full 1080p resolution.
However... (there's always a however)...
All HDTVs including 3D HDTVs only has 60Hz input. That means at best the left and right eye will be seeing video @ 30Hz. That means a max of 30FPS.
3D monitors accepts 120Hz input which means 60Hz per eye... which means up to 60FPS.
