Canon lide 80 driver

My old desktop running vista 32 bit recently died and I now have new pc. New pc came with windows 7 home premium 64 bit, a fairly standard set up. Was then very disappointed when I was unable to get driver from canon to get my trusted lide 80 scanner working. Canon have 32 bit windows driver for it but no 64 bit driver. Several of their lide range scanners have 64 bit driver but not the lide 80. Is their any way of getting my lide 80 to work on my new pc or will I have to scrap a perfectly adequate scanner, if only it had a driver, and gave to spend more money on a new scanner?
