I live in the San Fernando Valley of So. CAlifornia, and have a TV/computer monitor screen that "died."
I would just like to take it somewhere to be refurbished, rather than just
scrapping it. What should I do?

You can recycle it out your window. (and don't yell "Look out below!!!" )
However, if you are one of "those people" who prefer something a little more environmentally friendly (and no possibility of a lawsuit), then Google online for a recycling program in your neighborhood.
