i have a question, wouldn't this be a higher quality digital camera than most digital cameras?

i mean the optics in a digital camera are so small, if you make them bigger wouldnt it at the same time increase the quality?

im not saying my old 20$ pos would suddenly be a camera god, but wouldnt it be a better option than getting a 1-200$ digital options at least? and that number would only go up id i got a real slr camera.

If you had a good camera, you'd get better quality capture at the point the image is seen, but it depends on how that thing captured the image from the host. I don't think it will be any better than a similary priced digital SLR.
