Right now there offering free shipping and 10% off...
So what do you think... I started with a base system, added more ram, a
second drive (cdrw) and upgraded to a 19" crt monitor.. final price without
tax $816.00
I am eyeballing some dells on ebay for less....

Basically just want to know from your experience if I could get better
offers from Dell... Thanks J

If you're in no hurry to get a new computer you might benefit by waiting and
checking for one or two day deals that Dell sometimes runs (usually near the
end of one of their accounting periods which is Jan, Apr, Jul, Oct). For
example I got almost the same Dimension 4600 setup as you but:

512 MB RAM
80G hard drive
CDR and CDRW drives
Soundblaster Live sound card
Nvidia 128 MB video card
Sonic Now DVD/CD writing software
free shipping
NO MONITOR

for $579, after $200 rebate. This was back in the last week of January.

Dell technically doesn't. They have a third-party company that does it for
them. Still, though, it is Dell's warranty.
