Hello. I am also having all sorts of problems with the pro tools se. However, user manual says that software requires minimum of 2.0 ghz processor with at least 5400 rpm. Check the specs on your computer. I was advised to get a computer (I wanted laptop) with at least an i5 processor with 6gb of RAM memory. This laptop has 2.2ghz of hard drive (I've noticed many audio recorders on forums list their ghz at 3.5 or more. I'm still trying to figure out what went wrong with my pro tools se, error codes popping up at each take, tracks refusing to record, losing tracks, recorded tracks turning into white noise. Pretty frustrating. But I'm thinking on uninstalling and starting over. Good luck and let me know how it goes. Take care.
