Hello,
I have an old Teac V95RX with dbx nr that no longer works and I have several hundred tapes recorded with dbx nr. If I purchased a dbx 222 unit and put tape out and rec in would my tapes sound as they were intended. Without dbx, tapes sound very tinny!

It would sound approximately correct with a new DBX unit...

There were 2 types of DBX NR, Type 1 was professional, Type 2 for home use. If your Teac was Type 2 I have DBX 222 that I can sell you for $100.
