Speakers making high pitch noise

Forum Audio : General Discussion Speakers making high pitch noise

Hi

My speakers started making a high pitch noise when switched on.

Thought they were broken so got some new ones - the high pitch noise is still there

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Thanks

A ground loop?
Try disconnecting all cable TV and see if the noise goes away.

In a PC, sometimes the wiring, the data cables and the power cables are incorrectly tied together.
This causes data noise to bleed into the audio. Separate the wiring inside the PC and see if it can be arranged so that the noise goes away.
I have seen this happen before, and after separation of the wiring, the noise stopped.
