Silly question: I have 3 options to modify the volume on my computer (sound-playing program (wmp) volume slider, sound card volume slider, volume knob on speakers. What should my volume levels be on each to optimize sound quality ie should I max 2 and just play with 1 or should i put them all at about the same level?

For best sound quality the 2 sound adjustments on the PC should be maximum. These are digital volume controls and lose quality as the are turned down. Adjust sound on the speakers.
Depending on the speakers and source you might not notice the difference.
