I have a video converter from sony with a dvd burner in it and i cannot record my legally owned and bought vhs tapes because of copyright can you tell me if there is a way around this

I don't think there is a solution using a VHS-DVD burner combo. If you had another stand alone vhs machine you could look around for an old macrovision bypass box that could be connected in between the player and the burner.
