how do I enable sound on my IBM T40 laptop???

Buried deep within the IBM website there is a page for downloading drivers for the T40. Just download and install the one needed for sound.

If you already have the driver installed, then id suggest reinstalling it for good measure. Try going into control panel and opening up the audio panel to make sure it isnt muted

I did the install, uninstall, reinstall of drivers from ibm website. I keep getting a message that the sound device is not recognized. I think I need to find out where or how to enable the soundcard on the IBM t40.

I did as you suggested, still no audio.
