My wife has a Gateway DX4831-01e. The SD card reader has stopped working. When I look at the Device Manager, I see the message ‘device working properly’. Any suggestions on where I should look to fix the issue.

What OS is this running off?

I would uninstall/reinstall

if its windows 7... plug in the device... reboot the pc, run all windows updates (including optional updates) - check that windows is a registered product

Display you can adjust check the manual, lines you can't. See if there is a repair shop that can swap out the card reader.

Hi,

1. Try a different USB port for the reader

2. He meant uninstalling the card reader listing in the Device Manager, restarting the PC and letting Windows install the generic driver for it again.
