Hp power supply problems

Forum Systems : HP Hp power supply problems

I have an HP d4999t Pavillion that will no longer power on.
Green light on power supply stays on but otherwise nothing is running.
Is there a way to confirm that this is a power supply issue only or are there other possible causes?
Thanks for your help.

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums!

Here is a test: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5FWXgQSokF4

This test will not test the PSU under load. It will only tell you if the PSU works to some extent or the other.

Please give us some details as to what is happening or not happening.

Make sure inside your computer the RAM is properly seated and that the computer is cycled. Unplug the computer, open the case, hold down the power button for 10 seconds, take out and put back in the battery which is seated on the motherboard inside the computer (it looks like a watch battery), plug it in turn it on, does it work?
