Hello,
bought pc 2nd hand checked tick box in safe mode in msconfig not knowing xp had username and password now cant get out of safe boot!
o.s. is windows xp. any ideas welcome

Try removing the RTC battery (Lithium CR 2032) on the motherboard. Leave it out for 10 minutes. Then re-install the battery. This will set the BIOS to factory default values. Now restart the computer.

thanks tried that but still boots up in safe mode to windows log on screen!!
