Hello,
I have a EH 31 adapter (from a coolpix 990) and want to know if I can use it on a coolpix 8700. The out on the 31 is 6.5v, 1.9 A. the 53 is 8.4v and 1.3 A.

Welcome to Tom's Hardware Forums!

 

The output voltage must match and the Amps must be equal or greater than the requirement. The difference between 6.5V and the 8.4V requirement is too great. My answer, NO.
