Hi guys, it's been a year since Iam using my compaq desktop, but yesterday I found out while starting my LCD monitor has a red line in the middle of the screen. I tried rebooting the PC but the line is still there after the boot. Can you guys help me. My monitor is compaq w185q.

Do you have access to another computer? If so, connect the monitor to it. With this simple swap, you should be able to determine if the monitor or the video card of your desktop PC is the problem.

This is a short circuit on the red pixel line, and means that the monitor has failed. Repairs would be cost prohibitive.
