Hi there

Basically, for some very obscure reason my computer does not seem to think that i have any USB 2.0 ports onboard, and decides that they are all infact 1.1 or 1.0 or something slower? Everytime i plug something like and ipod, external hard drive etc. i get the warning message

'hi-speed usb device attached to non-hi-speed hub'

I even get it when i plug it straight into the back of the motherboard. I havent had this problem before i changed my case, which makes no sense as the case surely can't affect this?

My setup is as follows:

Mobo: Nvidia nforce 680i SLI
GPU: Nvidia geforce 8800gtx
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6750
Mem: Corsair 2GB XMS2 DDR2 PC6400
HDD1: Western Digital Raptor 150GB
HDD2: Seagate Barracuda 320gb
O/S: XP Pro SP2
Case: Coolermaster Cosmos 1000

I am completely confused and very annoyed with this problem. After googling it i have found no helpful answer and so was hoping someone here might be able to stop me from going nuts.

All questions, suggestions and comments will be much appreciated.

Many Thanks
Tom

Did you try to update your drivers? Your mobo is using Nvidia nforce chipset but what is your mobo name then?

I have similar problems before but my ex-mobo is using VIA chipsets and it offers an update of its USB 2 driver.

You may try to uninstall your usb driver first before updating it to the latest driver.

I actually have similar issues with my Antec 900 case & Nvidia 780i motherboard. Probably a driver issue.
