will windows 7 rc corrupt my files on my hard disk ?
as the backup process of my files will take a long time.and also i read on microsoft site that win 7 may corrupt the files.
also i have another question that
i have multi boot xp/vista is it possible to install windows 7 over vista and keep multi boot with xp?

Yes you can install windows 7 over windows vista and your multi boot will still work. iv done a few upgrades from win vista to win 7 and the only program that seams to get corrupted is adobe reader, but other then that win 7 should not corrupt any files but with that said its normal best to do a clean install anyway.

also have you tried windows easy transfer, its a great tool and could help you out with backing up

the only problem with this is that you will need to install your programs again

but to clarify is it possible to install win 7 RC over vista (as clean installation) on same vista partition and not upgrade vista to win 7 during win 7 installation and keep the multi boot with xp????

Why risk it? Why not create a new partition and do a clean install there?
