I consider them bottom of the barrel. That probably makes a lot of other so called value brand names below bottom of the barrel, or in other words "pure sh!t".

Well there is a Samsung SyncMaster 940N i could go for which costs more but it seems to have the same features like 700:1 contrast ratio, 8ms instead of 5ms with the acer one. So whats the difference is it just Samsung make better quality or what. I'll go for that if it offers better quality.
Factory specs do not bear much weight. Generally speaking Samsung makes good quality monitors. They are both TNs but that Samsung is supposed to have better image quality from what I have heard.
Saying that Acer monitors are pure **** and then saying that Samsung makes quality monitors is hipocritical, being that Samsung makes the Acer displays and is the driving force behind their technology. So I would say that Acer is more the budget version of more expensive Samsung model, But surely not Pure ****. People have become so poetic anymore.
I stated that I considered Acer monitors to be bottom of the barrel.
There are various other less well known value oriented brand names and I consider those to be below bottom of the barrel or "Pure Sh!t".
Still, not a very flattering opinion of Acer.
In general, I have a low opinion of any monitor built around a TN panel. I admit that I recently bought a cheap TN panel monitor, but it will have a specific limited usage. Therefore, I figured it would be best to spend about $280 on a LCD monitor ($238 if I get my PayPal discount) rather than spending $600 - $1,200 which I normally would have done.

I just purchased a new S202HLLCD monitor and find it EXTREMELY difficult to install. Shouldn't it be "plug and play" device. It doesn't seem that way. Installtion manuel is terrible. It truely lacks info. It also lacks a phone number. Online support is incable of support, when the screen is black.
