Specs wise they look very similar to me. I can't find any reviews specifically for the Samsung SyncMaster 245B, but I know the DELL 2407WFP reviews very high.

Samsung: http://www.memoryexpress.com/index [...] 10330&SID=

Dell:http://www1.ca.dell.com/content/to [...] l=en&s=dhs

Anyone know anything about the Samsung and how it stacks up to the Dell?

The Dell by far.

The Samsung 245B uses a 6-bit TN LCD panel which can only produce 262k of actual colors. Through a process called dithering the remaining 16 million are created by blending some of the 262k colors. TN panels general have low response times and are inexpensive, but that's about all that's good about them.

The Dell uses an 8-bit S-PVA panel that can truly create 16.7 million colors.

I actually just purchased the dell 24" and received it last week. I've watched a lot of movies on it and done the normal pc things as well. I must say it looks great and the on screen menus are good IMO. Just make sure you get it on sale. Dell puts it on sale about once per month. Otherwise you will overpay ~$100.

OK... This is the perfect post I was looking for. I was originally looking at Dell's because they get great reviews from my friends. I was looking at the 27", but $999 is just not worth it. So, I started to look at the Dell UltraSharp 2408WFP 24-inch (http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna [...] u=320-6272 ) as in the original post.

But I have been now looking at this Samsung that is getting great reviews and is a different model than above. It's the Samsung T260 (http://www.samsung.com/us/system/c [...] _Final.pdf). Because this Samsung is still a a-si TFT/TN display, should I just look at the Dell? Thanks in advance!

I'm proud for I'm a Jew .

hi there,

The 27" inch monitor has the same resolution the 24" gets..
the two works on 1920X1080 so I guess the pixels are larger on the 27" monitor. so you should think what you are looking for ? a bigger screen or a greater resolution?

the T260 doesn't support this resolution, only the t260HD support this resolution .
and I think you should go and see for yourself the Dell monitor.
its just different, go and see for yourself.

Noam
