More Information

Hello,

I'm currently in the market for a nice 22", but I am currently in between a rock and a hard place on which one to purchase.
I've researched panels from places such as newegg, tomshardware, behardware, cnet, and various google sites and it seems to have boiled down to these three.

1. Samsung 226BW 22" 2ms

The hype of this display between the S,A,C,C versions of this product is the only thing keeping me from purchasing this, seeing as how the S version beats out most other 22" on the benchmarks.

2. Dell E228WFP 22" 5ms

This is my runner up at the moment if I don't hear good about the LG L226WTY-BF 22", or another product.

3. LG L226WTY-BF 22" 2ms

I haven't heard much about this panel, but that's due partly to its' recent shelf arrival. However, all of the reviews that I have read seem promising, but I might as well see if any of you have dealt with it as of yet.

I will be using this for gaming, word processing, movies, web surfing, and a bit of photo editing. So, I'm curious if any of you have seen a side by side analysis of any of these (I've only seen Dell vs Samsung). Have any of you dealt with the LG L226? Would you have any other recommendations of LCD panels?

Feel free to post other comments.

Thank you.

I am in the exact same boat as you, I'm caught between all three of those models. Regardless of price I just want the one that performs the greatest. Hopefully together we might figure it out, or maybe Jag can bless us with a response and really break down the comparison.

I don't really follow 22" monitors much.

The Samsung 226BW has been discontinued. Samsung has a few 22" LCD monitors, but it was probably replaced by the SAMSUNG 2232BW. However that monitor has also been discontinued, probably due to simplar lottery issues as the 22BW. The probable successor could be the 2253BW:

Never read any reviews about it.

The Dell E228WFPP seems to be a good value LCD monitor. Not sure about ghosting, but there's some backlight bleeding according to some people, but complaints do not seem more than average. While all monitors have some level of lag, there doesn't seem to be many complaints with regards to this monitor.

LG L226WTY-BF also seems to be a pretty good monitor, but lacks the popularity of the Dell E228WFP o there seems to be fewer user opinions of the monitor. A few people have stated lagging and ghosting is better than the Samsung 2232BW.

There is no such thing as a stupid question.
But there are stupid people.
