I love my iPAQ classic, but it is getting really long in the tooth. Are there any pocket-sized tablets out there? Basically a 4-to-5" screen. Windows or Google OS is fine. I don't really want a phone, I want a general replacement for my "Colombo Notepad".

Nothing like that is around really, you can get an iPad Touch though, basically it will function as a decent PDA. You can even pick one up cheaply on craigslist, lots of them for sale there. Just make sure you test it well. Or just buy a new one if you don't mind the extra cost.

Apple? Huh, I haven't even thought of them. I thought it was all phones and MP3. Time to download the manual for the Touch and see what it can do.

I've found stuff from a company called Archos, but I've never heard of them.

Archos does some nice media tablets, and they do come in a variety of sizes. But I don't know how well they act as PDAs. I know the iPod Touch can sync to email over WiFi.
