Yahoo Mail app on Wifi-only tablet?

Forum Mobile Computing : General Mobile Computing Yahoo Mail app on Wifi-only tablet?

I recently purchased a Vizio wifi-only android tablet for my wife. The trouble is that I'm trying to install the Yahoo Mail app https://market.android.com/details?id=com.yahoo.mobile.client.android.mail&hl=en, which I use on my android phone, and love because it works well online and offline.

Unfortunately, when I try to install this on the tablet, it tells me that it's not compatible (I suspect due to the lack of mobile network support, since I found this requirement with another e-mail app -- really just guessing, though), and refuses to install.

It is easy to configure Yahoo mail to work with the built-in mail client (imap mode lets me deal with the folders she's got in the web-client), but it doesn't integrate with the contacts from Yahoo. Using the regular Yahoo app, it can link to e-mail, but is then online only, which is less than ideal for a wifi-only tablet...

Any ideas how to get the Yahoo Mail app (linked above) or something else installed that can work offline and integrate with the contacts from the Yahoo Mail account?

Thanks!
