Hi there, I was wondering if anyone out there knew how or if it was possible to find a cell phone that is inactive at this point but has been stolen? It was a blackberry 9330 but is no longer on or active. It was left in a car and the car had been broken into and the phone along with other valuables had been stolen. Because the phone isn't on the gps funtion wont work. Is there any way to find out the locatin of the phone without it being active or on? Ive called the company its with and they say there is no way to find the phones location and they cant alert me if and when someone tries to have it activated. Does anyone know of a way around this that will give me a location for the phone or is it impossible as the phone company says? Please reply asap as this is a time sensative issue...Thank you so much for any info you can supply.

Hello AtWittsEnd,

Sorry to hear that you lost your BB device.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to trace/locate your device.

Call the Service Provider and have your services suspended to avoid any unauthorized usage.

Hope you find your phone back - Good luck and Merry Christmas!!!

If you think about it for a second, you will realize that to find a turned off phone is about the same thing as finding a rock that someone hid. Turned off phone = no signal to the cell towers. Rock = no signal to the cell towers.
