What is the issue here, the drive won't read disks, or the computer can't detect the drive? Did you try removing the drive from device manager and re-installing it? Should not need any special drivers, windows will install it unless you removed some system files.

computer can,t detect drive will try reinstalling ,some files could have been lost or corrupted by removal of virus infection on my other computer but haven,t been given original xp service pack 3 disk ,to start again with coa codes to find lost files
