I was given an Eee pc 1000h because chargers would "blow up" I have gotten a new charger and I can use it fine if the battery is not in the unit, but I am to scared to try it with the battery in the computer because the last owner had 2 chargers "blow up" before he gave it to me.

If anybody knows how to test the battery, and would like to share that knowledge that would be very kind. Or if you know how to fix please share it with me.

the battery model is AL23-901 if that helps

You can't "fix" batteries, a new one would be much cheaper. Could be the battery, could be the connection. You'd have to try a known good battery in it to find where the issue is though.
