Simple Andriod question

Forum Mobile Computing : General Mobile Computing Simple Andriod question

Word :    Username :

Hi All.

Just asking if Andriod for smart phones is about the same as Andriod for tablets?
Suh as, does an Andriod 2.3 4" phone have the SAME browser, Flash Plug in, same apps, same games, etc as the Andriod 2.3 tablet version - If they both run a simular ARM CPU ?
The only difference is the phone and the tables have slightly different interfaces?

If you think I'm completely lost, please give me a link to point me in the right direction.

that's all.

ok thanks!

This seems to be difficult.
I thought it will be as easy as saying Windows 7 is not compatible with Windows Phone 7.

Android for phone is very very close if not identical to Android for any other device.

Win 7 vs. Mobile 7 is about as close to each other as a 10-speed bike is to a Harley, you can sit on both, but how it runs is way different.

In general - software versions will be the same (if they are they default android software COE) for each OS revision. With 3.0, the OS is tooled for greater flexibility in the tablet space and phone space and I expect once 3.0 phones are widely available, you will find the same versions of the software there too.

However, if it is a concern, I'd suggest being device specific in your concerns. It is possible for the manufacturer to include alternate software builds.
