seem to be having a problem with cd's wanting to eject from kenwood car stereo. are some labels better than others (gloss vs matte vs clear). my wife HAS to have her dingy labels. any recommendations???? (also, just had to send the kenwood off for warranty repair, said the lazer needed replacing...is this from the labels maybe?)

As long as the label is properly centered on the disc and doesn't have too much mass, it shouldn't interfere with the disc playing.

What is more likely is that your Kenwood CD player is picky about what CD-R media it will read (most CD players are). This will cause it to spit out discs it doesn't like. Try different brands of CD-R as well as a different burning program to see if you can eliminate the problem.
