All of a sudden my CD ROM and DVD burner are not working. The lights come on when I insert a disc, but nothing happens. When I look at system information and explorer, etc., the computer appears to not recognize their existence. Does anyone have any ideas what I can do?

Check for presence of device in diskmgmt.msc ; if not present check in bios ; if not present check wiring, jumper and BIOS settings ; if still not present or present and not working then get a new drive...
