Hi guys, I'm wondering if this is a good custom gaming pc? specs: motherboard - ASRock 3N78D cpu - AMD Phenom II X4 960T 3,0GHz Black Edition gpu - XFX Radeon HD6870 1024MB ram - Corsair 4GB (2x2048MB) CL9 1600Mhz XMS3 1,5V hard drive - 160GB Western Digital Caviar Blue psu - XFX Core Edition 550W 80+ Bronze case - cooler master elite 310 front fan - Fractal Design 120mm Silent Series Any opinions? This is my first time building a custom computer so I may have even chosen parts that wouldn't fit together thanks in advance
Looks OK...I'd get a bigger HDD though, you'll soon fill that up!
AMD Phenom II X4 955 BE Rev. C3 (95watts) or AMD Phenom II X4 965 BE (125watts) HDD far too small and slow - 500GB Seagate or Samsung Only 4 SATA ports @ 3Gb/s - at least 2 x 6Gb/s would be better nForce 720D MCP - prefer ATI SB8xx chipset
probably better: http://3xs.scan.co.uk/ShowSystem.asp?SystemID=979 gpu is probably a little weaker, you could do better than what you've been offered. edit - sorry forgot this that was ex vat.
