Forum CPU & Components : Sound Cards SB Live! or nForce2 AC'97 Codec?

Word : Username :

Hi. I recently purchased the Epox 8RDA+ mobo and I was wondering if I should use the onboard sound codec that this board provided, or should I stick to my old SB Live! sound card? Which one has better quality sound for gaming?

I dont think the 8rda+ is soundstorm qualified. If it is, use the soundstorm.

I'd probably ditch the soundblaster all together myself as long as the mobo does 4.1.

Athlon 1700+, Epox 8RDA (NForce2), Maxtor Diamondmax Plus 9 80GB 8MB cache, 2x256mb Crucial PC2100 in Dual DDR, Geforce 3, Audigy, Z560s, MX500

According to the review of Anandtech the 8RDA+ uses the nVidia APU just like the Asus board and others.

The 8RDA3]+ does not use the nVidia APU however.

My CPU fan spins so fast that it creates a wormhole
