Since upgrading OS from XP to 7, ink level display has disappeared. Can I restore this function?

Have you downloaded and installed the Windows 7 drivers for the printer?

On my blog inkblogwe had a similar question, and if I remember rightly Windows 7 has a built in function to retreive the newest driver etc. All you have to do is navigate to printers in the control panel and select that option.

That should work, only it looks at the MS servers and not the ones for the specific printer maker. In most cases this won't be a problem but with newer models it can sometimes pay to get the latest straight from the makers site as it can take a while for MS to approve the driver and add it to their set.
