Interested in using a small TFT color screen to show video for a new product I am designing... Probably 3 - 4 inches max, thin, and with either video inputs or a way to hard wire the video into it. Small size is very important.

Kinda think the the new cell-phone TFT's would be perfect size...

Any ideas? Anyone know where I could get a few cell phone TFT's to try? Is there a special video format for the TFT's?

Thanks!

Scott,

What data format were you going to use to send to the small cell phone display? If you're not sure how to drive the display or, where to get it, I'd suggest buying an expensive cell phone or a hand-held game machine and save yourself a ton of money. Buying just the display means you need the rest of the portable system to decode your file, send it through a graphics processor/scaler then, format and feed the data to the LCD. Don't forget the power supply for the little LEDs in the display's backlight.

Not to sound too negative but buying a gizmo that already works is the way I'd go.
